Pray Instead of Worrying 🕊
PRAYER WORKS. Worrying just steals our JOY! 🙏
This morning take a breath and slow down for a second. Before your mind jumps straight into everything that could go wrong remember you are not meant to carry all of that by yourself. Worry shows up fast. Prayer slows it down. When you pray you are basically saying I do not have to fix everything right this second. I am handing this to God because He can hold what I cannot.
God is not asking you to pretend everything is fine. He simply invites you to bring whatever is heavy. The frustration the unknowns the stuff you have not even said out loud yet. When you talk to Him you shift your focus from what scares you to the One who walks with you. That shift is where peace begins.
Take Philippians 4 verse 6 where it says not to worry about anything but pray about everything. It does not promise that all your problems disappear. It promises that peace arrives while you face them.
Therapy Tips!
Try the Five Minute Dump. Write down everything swirling in your mind. You do not have to organize it. Just empty it out. When you are done turn that list into a prayer. It is a simple way to move from overthinking into releasing.
Practice grounding. Feel your feet on the floor. Notice something you can see hear and touch. Once you are present pray from that grounded place. Your nervous system calms and prayer feels less rushed.
Use Breath Prayers. Inhale while thinking God I trust You. Exhale while thinking I release what I cannot control. This helps your body and your spirit at the same time.
Today whenever worry pops up treat it like a reminder bell. Instead of spiraling pause breathe and talk to God about it right then. You do not have to be perfect at this. Just keep practicing the shift.
