BE THE LIGHT 🌞
One of the most beautiful things about following Jesus is that He never asked us to just gather knowledge. He asked us to love people. To notice people. To help people. Sometimes we can get so caught up in our own stress, healing, worries and goals that we forget how powerful simple kindness really is. But the truth is, giving back changes something in us too.
A verse that really highlights this is Proverbs 11:25:
“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
I love that verse because it reminds us that generosity is not just money. It is encouragement. Time. Patience. Listening to someone. Checking in. Praying for people. Helping someone when they cannot repay you. Even smiling at someone who looks exhausted can shift their entire day.
The world teaches us to constantly protect “our own.” Our own energy. Our own success. Our own gain. But Jesus showed us a completely different way to live. He washed feet. He sat with hurting people. He fed crowds. He stopped for the lonely. He noticed the overlooked.
Sometimes helping others does not look dramatic at all. Sometimes it looks like answering the message you were too tired to answer. Sometimes it looks like buying someone a coffee. Sometimes it is giving grace instead of reacting. Sometimes it is sharing your testimony because someone else needs hope.
And honestly, helping others can heal our hearts too. There is something about stepping outside of ourselves that reminds us we still carry purpose. The enemy loves isolation and self obsession because it keeps us trapped in fear and heaviness. But love moves outward. Love gives. Love notices.
That does not mean allowing people to use you or drain you constantly. Jesus helped people, but He still rested. He still withdrew to pray. Healthy giving comes from overflow with God, not from running yourself into the ground trying to save everybody.
Ask God today, “Who can I bless?” It does not need to be huge. Do not underestimate small acts done with love. Heaven notices those things more than we realise.
You may never fully know how much your kindness impacts someone. One encouraging sentence could stop someone from giving up. One prayer could carry someone through a dark week. One act of generosity could remind someone that God has not forgotten them.
And the beautiful thing is this. When we give love away, God never leaves us empty.
Prayer 🙏
Lord, thank You for everything You have given me, even in difficult seasons. Help me to have a heart that notices others. Show me opportunities to encourage, help and love people the way You do. Keep me generous in spirit, not just in possessions. Protect me from becoming cold, selfish or disconnected from people around me. Let my life reflect Your kindness. And when I feel empty myself, remind me that You are the One who fills me again. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Wonderful reminder of how simple yet powerful sharing God’s love for others can be
Amen
