“Letting God Take Care of It” 🕊
Bible..
“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” - Psalm 55:22 (NIV).
Reflection..
We all face moments when life feels far too complicated to fix. Problems pile up! Health issues, family worries, financial strain, strained relationships. And the instinct is to solve everything at once. Yet the truth is, not everything is ours to solve. God invites us to cast our cares on Him, not carry them indefinitely.
Trusting God doesn’t mean ignoring what needs attention. It means releasing what you cannot control and taking faithful steps where you can. In therapy, this mirrors what Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) calls letting go of the struggle.. noticing what’s heavy, naming it honestly, and then deciding where your energy is best spent. When we cling too tightly to what’s beyond our power, stress grows; when we loosen our grip, peace returns.
Try this!
1. Write down one situation that’s been weighing on you.
2. Take a deep breath and say quietly, “God, this is Yours.”
3. Picture placing it into His hands.
This simple act of surrender helps your body and mind experience what your spirit already knows.. you are not alone, and you are not meant to hold everything.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) teaches us to distinguish between what’s controllable and what’s not. You can’t change someone else’s attitude, the past, or tomorrow’s outcome.. but you can choose your response today. Spiritually, this is the heart of trust: doing what’s possible with peace, and leaving the rest in God’s care.
God is neither slow nor distant. He is quietly at work in the background, arranging what you cannot see. His solutions often take time, not because He delays, but because He is aligning hearts, timing, and circumstances for your good. The hardest part of faith is the waiting, yet it’s also the holiest.
So, when your thoughts spiral or your heart aches to fix everything, take one steady breath and remember. God has it handled. You don’t need to push, perform, or panic. Just rest in His promise. He will sustain you!
Reflection Prompts..
1. What burdens are you currently carrying that may belong in God’s hands instead of yours?
2. How might you remind yourself to release worry when it resurfaces throughout the day?
3. What would it feel like to truly trust God to work behind the scenes for your good?
Prayer..
Faithful God, I lay before You all that feels too heavy for me. Teach me to release control and trust that You are already working on my behalf. When I am tempted to worry, remind me that Your strength is greater than my struggle. Help me rest in the peace of knowing You have it all in hand. Amen.
