God Does Not Work Like Humans! 🙏
There are moments in life when we expect God to behave the way people do. We project our experiences onto Him. If people have let us down, we assume God will too. If we have been ignored, we fear He is silent for the same reasons. If others have been slow to help, we convince ourselves He must be distant. But God does not move like humans. He is not limited, inconsistent, forgetful, or hesitant. His love is steady. His power is miraculous. He sees what we cannot see and works in ways that often make sense only in hindsight.
When life feels uncertain, your mind may fall into familiar cognitive patterns. In therapy, we call these automatic thoughts. They are quick conclusions formed out of old pains rather than present reality. You might think, Nothing is changing. I am on my own. It is too late. These thoughts make emotional sense because they echo past disappointments, yet they are not the full truth. God is not a reflection of human behaviour. He moves beyond timelines, fear, and limitation.
A helpful therapeutic practice is evidence checking. When your mind insists that God is not working, pause and gently ask yourself, Is this thought based on past hurt or on who God has proven Himself to be? Notice the difference between human inconsistency and divine faithfulness. Even in quiet seasons, God is weaving answers, shifting circumstances, softening hearts, opening doors, and preparing you for things you cannot yet imagine.
Grounding skills can also help you reconnect with this truth. Sit comfortably, take a slow breath, and place one hand on your heart. Remind yourself aloud, God is not limited by what limits humans. He is working even when I cannot see it. Let your body settle into the calm that comes from trusting a God who operates far beyond human capacity.
This is where encouragement becomes real. You may not see the full picture yet, but that does not mean nothing is happening. God specialises in impossible places. He comforts in unexpected ways. He restores what seems beyond repair. He provides from directions you did not consider. His timing is different. His thoughts are higher. His ways are miraculous.
