Scripture of the Day! 📖
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
Today’s verse gently invites us into a different way of living. Walking by faith means choosing trust when clarity is limited. It means believing that God is present and active even when our circumstances feel uncertain or confusing. Sight depends on evidence we can measure and predict. Faith depends on relationship. It rests in who God is rather than what we can see.
Many of us struggle with the need to control outcomes. We plan carefully, anticipate every possibility, and hold tightly to what feels familiar. Yet faith calls us to loosen our grip. When we rely only on sight, fear often leads the way. When we walk by faith, peace becomes possible even before answers arrive. God does not ask us to ignore reality. He asks us to trust Him within it.
Biblical wisdom reminds us that surrender is not weakness. Proverbs teaches us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding. Jesus Himself modeled this trust by committing His life fully to the Father, even when the path led through suffering. Faith does not remove hardship, but it anchors us so hardship does not define us.
From a therapeutic perspective, releasing control is a process of learning safety again. Here are gentle ways to practice letting go while walking by faith.
First notice what you are trying to control and name it without judgment. Awareness is the beginning of change.
Second practice grounding in the present moment. Slow breathing, noticing your body, and naming what is real right now can calm the nervous system.
Third challenge the belief that control equals safety. Ask yourself what has truly sustained you in the past. Often it was not control, but support, resilience, and grace.
Fourth allow uncertainty to exist without immediately fixing it. Tolerance for uncertainty grows with practice and builds emotional strength.
Finally place what you cannot control into God’s hands through prayer, repeating the truth that you are not alone and you are held.
Walking by faith is a daily choice. Some days it feels strong and confident. Other days it feels like a whisper of hope. God honours every step, even the small ones. Faith grows not by seeing everything clearly, but by trusting God faithfully.
Prayer..
Lord, today I choose to walk by faith and not by sight. I confess that I often try to control what feels uncertain because I am afraid. Teach me to trust You more deeply. Help me release what I cannot manage and rest in Your care. Calm my heart, renew my mind, and guide my steps. I place my future, my worries, and my unanswered questions into Your hands. Thank You for walking with me, even when I cannot see the way ahead. Amen.

Thanks so much, Jess. This has helped already today. Live for right now and walk by faith, not fear.
Everything else I can't control will take care of itself. 🙏
