Your presence always matters to God, he simply wants you to come as you are...and be closer to you.Especially in the times when you feel alone or you dont know what to do or say next.
Don't ever doubt how much he wants to spend just a little bit of time with you. A word, a thought....anything is better than nothing.
James 1:5: 'If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to you'.
Sometimes it can be difficult to know where to start when speaking to him, but it will come naturally, like you have spoken to him before, like an old friend. You can always start by simply thanking him for what you currently have...it doesn't have to be materialistic. It can be as simple as "Thank you for the sunshine today" ..."thank you for the roof over my head" then, maybe tell about what you need or what is on your mind... some even speak to him like a journal, telling him what they have done in the day.
It doesn't even have to be at a specific time of day, you can take some time throughout the day to have a continuous prayer/chat with him, telling him your processing thoughts.
What is important is to know he is always there for you ready to listen, not matter if you are happy, sad, angry, grief stricken, lost, worried....all he wants to do is help you if you let him.
Jeremiah 31:25: 'I will give the weary all they need, I will refresh everyone who is filled with sorrow"
Prayer:
Dear Lord,
In this moment, I seek refuge in Your embrace. Sometimes I struggle with how to speak to you and I am working on this, please instill within me a yearning to seek You in all that I do.
Thank you for another beautiful day, for the breath in my lungs and the roof over my head.
I would like to carry the serenity of Your presence through each hour, transforming my steps in life into a peaceful one with You.
Please help me to build up the confidence to turn to you rather than anything else, especially when I am not myself. Please help me to find peace and comfort in prayer and my words with only you Lord.
In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, I offer this prayer,
Amen 🙏
