Speak Life Even In The Storm! 🕊
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Proverbs 18:21.
Hard times have a way of trying to change the way we speak. When life feels heavy, people betray us, money gets tight, our health feels shaky, or the future feels uncertain, it becomes very easy to start speaking fear instead of faith. WeS start saying things like, “Nothing ever works out for me,” “I can’t cope anymore,” “Everything is against me,” or “God has forgotten me.”
But one thing God continually shows us in scripture is that our words matter deeply. Not because we are “manifesting” our own reality, but because our words reveal what spirit we are partnering with. Fear speaks death. Faith speaks life. The enemy wants exhaustion to become agreement. He wants you to speak defeat before the breakthrough even arrives.
Jesus Himself spoke the Word during hard times. When He was tempted in the wilderness, He answered Satan with scripture. When storms came, He spoke peace. When facing the cross, He still trusted the Father. That shows us something powerful. Strength is not pretending life is easy. Strength is choosing to stand on God’s truth when everything around you feels unstable.
Sometimes standing strong in God looks very quiet. It is waking up and saying, “Lord, I still trust You,” even with tears in your eyes. It is refusing to curse your future because today feels painful. It is speaking scripture over your mind when anxiety is screaming louder than peace.
You do not have to deny reality to have faith. David cried, grieved, and struggled deeply in the Psalms, but he kept bringing himself back to truth. He reminded himself who God was. That is what we have to do too. We have to stop letting emotions become our god. Feelings are real, but they are not always truth.
The enemy loves to attack people during vulnerable moments because pain can make us careless with our words. Be careful what you continually declare over yourself. If you constantly speak hopelessness, shame, and defeat, eventually your mind starts building a home around those thoughts. But when you speak God’s Word, even before you fully feel it, your spirit starts realigning with truth.
Speak things like: “God is with me.” “I will not be abandoned.” “This season will not destroy me.” “God is making me stronger.” “The enemy does not get the final word.” “I can stand because Christ strengthens me.”
Sometimes your breakthrough starts with what comes out of your mouth in the middle of the battle.
Standing strong in God also means refusing to let bitterness harden your heart. Hard times can either deepen us or darken us. Stay close to Jesus during suffering. Do not run from Him. Talk honestly with Him. Worship when you do not feel like it. Read scripture even when your mind feels distracted. Keep praying even if the answers feel delayed.
God is not asking you to be fearless. He is asking you to remain rooted in Him
