Choosing Forgiveness and a Fresh Start! ❤️‍🩹

Forgiveness is not about pretending the pain never happened. It is about deciding that the past no longer gets to control your present. When we hold on to old wounds they quietly shape our thoughts reactions and relationships. God invites us into a different way.

A way of release healing and renewal.Today you are allowed to start fresh. You are allowed to loosen your grip on what hurt you and place it in God’s hands. Forgiveness is often a process not a moment. Each small step toward letting go is an act of courage and faith. The past cannot be changed but it can be redeemed. When you forgive you make room for peace clarity and new beginnings. You are not erasing what happened. You are choosing freedom over bitterness and hope over heaviness.

Scripture..

Forget the former things do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up do you not perceive

isaiah 43:18 to 19.

Therapy Informed Reflections..

Forgiveness does not mean you must reconcile or remove healthy boundaries. It means you release yourself from the emotional weight of carrying the offense. When painful memories arise gently ground yourself in the present. Notice your breathing the feel of your feet on the floor and remind yourself that you are safe now.Writing can help. Try journaling what you wish had been different and then write a second page about what you are choosing to release today.

Be patient with yourself. Healing often happens in layers. If emotions resurface it does not mean you failed. It means your heart is still healing.

If forgiving feels overwhelming ask God to help you forgive a little at a time. Even willingness is a powerful beginning.

Prayer..

Lord I bring You the memories that still hurt and the weight I have been carrying for too long. I confess that letting go is hard and that sometimes I would rather protect my pain than release it. Today I choose to trust You with my past. Help me forgive not by my strength but by Your grace. Heal the places in my heart that are still tender. Teach me how to walk forward without fear and without bitterness. Thank You for new beginnings and for making all things new. Amen.
