Grace Over Perfection 🕊
Bible verse..
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." - 2 Corinthians 12:9
Reflection..
Many of us wake up each day feeling the silent weight of perfection. We set high expectations for ourselves and feel frustrated when we fall short. Whether it is at work, in relationships, or even in our spiritual lives, we sometimes believe that being “good enough” means being flawless. But that belief can become a heavy burden that God never asked us to carry.
Therapy often teaches us that perfectionism is rooted in fear! The fear of failure, rejection, or not being worthy of love. We try to control every outcome so we can feel safe. Yet in doing so, we lose sight of grace. The Bible reminds us that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. He never demanded perfection from us. He asks for presence, honesty, and trust.
When we allow ourselves to be human, we give God room to be God. Therapy helps us notice our inner critic and respond with compassion. Scripture reminds us that Jesus already carried the weight of perfection on our behalf. Together, these truths invite us to rest in grace instead of striving for flawlessness.
Take a moment today to breathe.
Release the urge to prove yourself.
Remind your heart that you are loved as you are, not as you think you should be.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to remember that I do not need to be perfect for You to love me. Teach me to accept my flaws with gentleness and to rest in Your grace. When I feel pressure to have it all together, remind me that Your strength shines brightest through my weakness. Amen.
YOU'RE DOING GREAT!!!! ❤️
