GO OUTSIDE! 🌳

Staying inside the same four walls too long turns the human body into a confused houseplant. Your legs forget their job description, your spine slowly merges with the chair, and your eyes start believing the sun is a myth invented by productivity gurus. Going outside reminds your body that it was designed to move, breathe real air, and receive vitamin D directly from the original light source God installed in the sky on day one. Even a short walk tells your muscles hey you still exist and tells your lungs thank you for not feeding us recycled couch air again.

Mentally, being indoors nonstop is like letting your thoughts run a group chat with no supervision. Everything echoes. Small worries grow into dramatic monologues. Fresh air has a way of gently interrupting that chaos. Trees do not care about your unread emails. Birds are not impressed by your overthinking. Nature resets the brain without asking you to download an app. Ecclesiastes reminds us there is a time for everything, including a time to step away from the screen and remember that life exists beyond your living room WiFi.

Spiritually, the Bible is basically one long encouragement to go outside. God met Adam in a garden not a studio apartment. Jesus regularly slipped away to mountains and quiet places which is biblical proof that even the Son of God needed a break from people and indoor lighting. The heavens declare the glory of God and it is hard to notice that declaration when you are staring at the same wall that has seen you eat cereal for dinner three nights in a row. Creation has a way of pulling your focus upward and outward instead of inward and anxious.

So yes pray indoors, work indoors, rest indoors, but do not live indoors. Step outside. Touch grass as the kids say. Let your body move, your mind breathe, and your spirit remember that God is bigger than your ceiling. Even Elijah heard God not in the noise but in the open quiet. Plus fresh air is cheaper than therapy and comes with fewer side effects.
