Choosing Kindness and Goodness! 🕊
There are moments when cruelty or revenge may feel like the easiest answer. When someone wounds us our hearts naturally long to protect themselves. Yet Scripture invites us into a higher way of living. A way that reflects the heart of God. Kindness never weakens us. It strengthens our character and renews our spirit!
Goodness plants seeds of healing in places where pain once ruled. When we choose kindness we choose freedom. When we choose goodness we choose growth.
Bible Verse..
Romans 12 verse 21 - Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
This verse reminds us that goodness is not passive. It is a powerful spiritual act. When you answer hurt with compassion you break cycles that have lasted years. When you respond with patience rather than revenge you reclaim your peace. Every choice toward kindness forms you into someone wiser calmer and more rooted in God.
Therapy Tips!
Pause before reacting.
Strong emotions encourage quick reactions. Take one slow breath to settle your nervous system. This pause creates space for a healthier response.
Name your feelings. Say to yourself I feel angry or I feel hurt. Naming emotions helps you regain clarity and reduces the urge to lash out.
Practice perspective taking.
Ask yourself What might this person be struggling with. This is not to excuse harmful behavior. It simply helps you move from reactivity to understanding.
Create a boundary rather than revenge. Therapy teaches that boundaries protect you without harming others. Choosing a boundary affirms your worth and keeps your heart grounded in kindness
Engage in self compassion.
Treat yourself with the same patience and gentleness you want to offer others. When you feel cared for within you are far less tempted to respond with cruelty.
Prayer..
Dear God.. thank You for guiding my heart toward kindness even when I feel wounded or frustrated. Fill me with Your goodness so that my thoughts and my words bring healing rather than harm. Give me wisdom when I feel tempted to respond in anger. Help me grow in compassion strength and peace. Let my life reflect Your love in every choice I make today. Amen.
