CHECK THOSE THOUGHTS! 👀
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
Guys..
One of the biggest mistakes we can make is believing every thought that pops into our head. Just because you think something doesn't mean it's true. Fear has a way of painting pictures that don't exist. It whispers, "What if everything goes wrong?" "What if you're not good enough?" "What if God doesn't come through this time?" Before long, we're worrying about things that haven't even happened.
The Bible doesn't tell us to negotiate with fear. It tells us to reject it.
When fearful thoughts come, don't make them comfortable. Don't give them a chair to sit on in your mind. Rebuke them. Speak God's truth over them. Remind yourself who your Father is. Fear says you're alone. God says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Fear says you're trapped. God says He always provides a way through. Fear says tomorrow is hopeless. God says His mercies are new every morning.
The more you feed fear, the louder it becomes. The more you feed God's Word, the quieter fear becomes.
That doesn't mean you'll never feel anxious. Even faithful people have moments of fear. The difference is that we don't let fear become the voice that leads our lives. We acknowledge how we feel, then choose to trust what God says instead. Faith isn't pretending fear doesn't exist. Faith is deciding that God's promises carry more weight than your worries.
Today, pay attention to the conversations happening in your mind. If a thought pulls you away from God's peace, challenges His character, or fills you with hopelessness, don't entertain it. Bring it before Jesus. Pray. Read Scripture. Worship. Replace the lie with truth.
Your mind is valuable ground. Guard it well. You don't have to accept every fearful thought that knocks on the door. In Christ, you have authority to reject what doesn't belong there and fill your heart with what is good, true, and life giving.
Prayer 🙏
Lord Jesus, thank You that You have not given me a spirit of fear. Help me recognise fearful thoughts quickly and refuse to agree with them. Fill my mind with Your truth, Your peace, and Your promises. Teach me to trust You more than my emotions and circumstances. Let my thoughts be shaped by Your Word rather than by fear. Today I choose faith over worry, peace over panic, and confidence in You over every lie of the enemy. In Jesus' name, Amen.
